SunOpta, one of the largest North American operator of natural and organic food businesses, has acquired the operating assets of a soymilk manufacturing facility located in Heuvelton, New York from ProSoya Corporation. The addition of the Heuvelton, New York facility strategically expands SunOpta’s soy manufacturing to the east coast of the US and will significantly enhance the company’s ability to effectively serve its growing customer base in the northeastern US and eastern Canadian markets. This sale will permit ProSoya to focus on the development of better and more efficient soymilk extraction from soybeans and great tasting nutritional products for its existing and new customers, as well as on providing customized solutions to small and large scale soymilk producers. SunOpta is an operator of ethical businesses, focusing on integrated business models in the natural and organic food, supplements and health and beauty markets.
